Your fresh cup of coffee in the morning is what sets you up for a great day. But if your machine has started to screech, splutter, slow down and serve up disappointing cups then it’s time to follow our 3-step coffee machine maintenance guide!
How to get started with coffee machine maintenance
Before you jump straight to it, mix soap and hot water in the sink, dampen a cloth and get your Drip Oil out of the cupboard to make the process quick and simple.
Step 1
Disconnect and disassemble the coffee machine
Turn off the mains and remove all detachable parts like the drip tray and water reservoir. Give them a thorough clean in the sink with soapy water, rinse and dry, and set aside. Now give the coffee machine a wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Step 2
Lubricate external mechanisms
Lubricate external mechanisms like the hinge arms or door linkages and work it in to keep it operating like new.
Step 3
Reassemble the coffee machine
Slide the drip tray back on, fill the water reservoir and clip back into place. Plug in and now you’re good to craft a fresh cup.
