We heard you got an electric bike for Christmas! To keep you zipping around – whether that’s to work or just cruising through the weekends – we’re here with a few handy maintenance tips to keep your electric bike reliable and ready for all your adventures in 2025.
Here’s how to look after your electric bike:
- Check the tyre pressure – for stability and a smooth ride, it’s always important to check they’re well inflated. Check the sides of your tyres, here it should say what the recommended pressure is. Use a bike pump to make sure the pressure is where it should be.
- Lubricate all the bearings – using your handy 3-IN-ONE Oil Spray can, oil the bearings, wipe away any excess oil and give it a spin to work it in. Check over the wheel hubs, bottom bracket and pedals too!
- Use your 3-IN-ONE Oil Spray to protect the frame – apply your Oil Spray along the electric bike frame and use a clean cloth to polish and fully coat the paint with your rust-preventing formula!
Extra electric bike tips to keep it and you happy!
- Store your electric bike indoors where possible
Keep your electric bike away from the elements. A climate-controlled space is best but if you have to leave it outside, use a weatherproof cover.
- Keep your electric bike clean and dry
After a big adventure, remove dirt and moisture with a dry cloth and apply 3-IN-ONE Oil Spray to the frame and components covered above.
- Remove the battery when in storage
If you won’t be riding your electric bike for a while, remember to remove the battery and store in a cool place at around half charge to maintain its health.
