Inspiration to help you get started
Starting 2026 right begins with a few small maintenance tasks that will stop bigger issues from occurring later in the year.
Take it from the maintenance heroes at 3-IN-ONE:
- Declutter and organise
As you clear out your cupboards, toolboxes and drawers, check hinges and drawer runners for resistance or uneven movement. Apply a small amount of 3-IN-ONE Drip Oil directly onto them to reduce friction and protect metal components from wear. Remember to wipe away excess, so you don’t attract dust!
- Refresh doors and handles
In the cold, January weather, metal parts often contract, which can cause hinges, locks and latches to seize up. While it’s frustrating, it’s no problem when you’re armed with the right tool. A few drops of 3-IN-ONE Drip Oil can be applied directly to pivot points and keyholes to bring them back to life. Pull the doors back and forth and give the keys a wiggle in the hole to work it in.
- Fix squeaky furniture
After lots of sitting around the dinner table, playing board games and relaxing over the Christmas break, furniture joints loosen and start to squeak. Tighten loose screws, bolts and joints and apply 3-IN-ONE Drip Oil to moving contact points to reduce noise and prevent wear.
- Maintain garden tools
When putting your tools away after doing your January garden preparation, remove dirt and moisture, and apply a light coat of 3-IN-ONE Drip Oil to exposed metal parts. This protective barrier stops rust from forming and keeps tools in good condition.
- Clear out the loft or garage
Stiff hinges, rails and folding ladders can make access awkward or unsafe. Apply 3-IN-ONE Drip Oil to hinges, sliding mechanisms and pivot points then test the movement to make sure everything opens and closes just fine.
- Prepare for outdoor jobs
Outdoor fittings such as gates, shed locks and padlocks are always open to damp and fluctuating temperatures. Apply a small amount of 3-IN-ONE Drip Oil and this will displace moisture, prevent sticking and keep then working well – even in the winter chill!
