Car maintenance doesn’t have to be complicated and that’s why we’re making it easy by listing some small fixes you can do yourself with when armed with your cupboard staple: 3-IN-ONE Multi-Purpose Drip Oil.

This beginner-friendly car maintenance guide covers safe, simple tasks that will lubricate, clean and prevent rust on your vehicle to prevent costly repairs.

Basic car maintenance tasks you can do using your Drip Oil:

  • Door hinges
Hinges can dry out, so use your Drip Oil to stop squeaks and keep doors opening properly.
    1. Open the door fully
    2. Apply a small amount of Drip Oil onto the hinge
    3. Move the door back and forth and wipe away excess

  • Bonnet and boot latches
Latches can make grinding and clicking noises, so apply a small amount of Drip Oil to help prevent sticking and improve movement.
    1. Expose the latches fully
    2. Apply a small amount of Drip Oil onto the mechanism
    3. Open and close several times and wipe away excess

  • Seat rails
Seat rails can become stiff or make scraping noises when dust and dirt buildup. Apply a small amount of Drip Oil to get the seat sliding more easily.
    1. Slide the seat fully forward and backward to expose all sections and clean as you go
    2. Apply a small amount of Drip Oil along the metal tacks (avoid electrical components under the seat)
    3. Move the seat up and down several times and remove excess oil
  • Car locks
Locks can feel stiff or gritty over time because of moisture and corrosion. A small amount of Drip Oil will lubricate, clean and prevent rust in the internal parts and keep them working like new.
    1. Apply a couple of drops into the hole of the lock
    2. Insert the key and turn it several times to lubricate well
    3. Remove the key and wipe away excess oil
  • Seat belt buckle (tongue and latch)
Seat belt buckles can become sticky due to dust or spills, affecting how they click and release. A little lubrication on the metal tongue will fix it.
    1. Check the buckle area for dirt and clean with a cloth
    2. Apply a tiny amount of Drip Oil to the metal tongue only
    3. Insert and release the belt several times, wipe away excess oil
  • Rubber door seals
Rubber door seals can dry out and crack, especially when the weather has been too cold or too hot. Applying a small amount of Drip Oil will keep the rubber supple and reduce the chances of tearing.
    1. Wipe the seals clean with a damp, clean cloth and dry
    2. Apply a small amount of Drip Oil to a clean cloth and wipe along the entire seal
    3. Open and close the door a couple of times and wipe away excess

There you are, simple car maintenance tasks made easier with 3-IN-ONE!

Why lubrication and rust prevention matter

Cars are full of moving metal parts that are exposed to water, road salt, dirt and changing temperatures, so without the right protection, you’ll find that parts can:

  • squeak or stick
  • wear out early
  • seize or snap
  • develop rust

A simple bit of car maintenance – like using your Drip Oil – can stop problems before they start.
